You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink !

When we are faced with severe crisis in our lifes do we drown our selves in self loathing, self pity or self deprevation? or do we stand and say to whomever is listening, "I need help and I would like you to be there for me". This acceptance of our situation makes us strong, and "grown folks" always handle a situation maturly as described. So what do we do when "grown folks" act a fool? do we walk away and never raise a hand to help that person, do we sit back and let sleeping dogs lie, or do we give them a dose of reality by brandishing a swift kick in the ass?

One does not neccesarily know what to do in all situations when a person you consider a friend does not want to change thier lives for the better. If your friend is in a situation where there is an obvious downward spiral, what can you do? In the caribbean when a person does not want to be helped, there is a tendency to withdraw from that person gradually, because as they saw, "only the captain goes down with the sinking ship", one cannot continuosly devote time and effort to help someone that doesnot want to be helped *even God only help those who help themselves*. Life cannot be dominated by a series of incidents that has nothing to do with ones life and if such events continue then frienships are doomed to failure. We have approximately 75 years on earth, dont waste your time, get help, live your life and appreciate the ones around you, life is too short and I for one will try and take full advantage of my 75 years...
